Any car that's done that sort of mileage is going to be well worn.

Some people say that motorway miles are easy miles, but it doesn't change the fact that every part of that car has done a lot of work in its life.

It might be a good buy now because its cheap, but it'll be like a cat D when it comes to resale time. Your market will be limited.

It's a false economy really, pay a grand extra and you could get one with half the miles on it and everything sorted. Don't these engines wear badly due to the shape of the cylinders/pistons or something being slightly ovalled? Apologies if I'm talking crap, but seem to remember when I first looked into them that over 150k is pretty much a time bomb and will be losing power.

Edit: had a quick search and this describes what I was talking about - https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/886...pan-my99-my02/

What would it be worth for parts if the engine failed? Would you be able to get most of your money back?

If you buy it I wouldn't mind taking the hardtop & fitting kit off your hands so you will have some cash towards a replacement engine should it go bang

Hmmm, seems like a risky buy, and 3k for a new engine - really?!

Looks good in the photos but hard what to make of it, and I'm 4 hours away from the car.

There are 2 cars advertised in the for sale section of this forum that would be better buys in terms of mileage for similar money:

From the engine bay picture I noticed something you should be aware off. Most possible this car has a replacement engine. If you notice the engine head cover and the PCV valve is from an 2000-2003 year model S2000 and not from 2004 model. Just a note

By the way is the fastest colour
