I'm on 138k (and boosted but not a lot boost) but i'm mechanically sympathetic and there's certain things I adhere to, for example if never goes above 3k until fully warmed up, I don't slam it into reverse without stopping etc etc etc

If you don't have a failure of the timing chain, it'll likely be the bearings that kill the engine off. Other parts will wear and lower performance, but the big end bearing will ruin the bottom end.

Bearing failure will be down to a lubricant issue i.e poor servicing or thrashing from cold.
Rods are the most highly stressed component on the engine and they will go from cycle fatigue eventually.

So in terms of prevention being better than a big bill, what are the recommendations for longevity apart from mechanical sympathy?
Cam chain replacement? Swap the rods?
I'd heard about valve spring collars letting go, worth replacing these at some point?
