What's the fuss about?
I thought it was about time for my first controversial post. And it's about all you people who keep on complaining everytime you see someone driving their S with the hardtop on.
Personally, I like my hardtop, and it's STAYING ON!!
Here's why it ain't coming off:
1. It looks better.
2. I'm not a poseur.
3. I don't need my hair blowdrying.
4. I don't want birds/people using my car as a toilet/litterbin
5. I don't have a garage, and I like sleeping at night time.
6. I park in a school car park, and I like sleeping at breaktime/lunchtime/lessontime.
7. This country's climate wasn't designed for convertables anyway.
So there.

The hardtop does look good, and its nice to have over the winter I see your reasons regarding birds and security etc.
I don't think I'd be able to relax leaving an S2000 in a school playground even with a hardtop
The climate is better than you might think, e.g. in France recently I saw very few convertibles as the sun even in April can be very strong, whereas it can be sunny and warm in the U.K. without giving you sunburn within 1 hour.
On the downside without being topless you're missing out on the weight reduction that brings that extra bit of urgency to the car under acceleration, which is nice when required and the whole feel and sound of the car is different when driving topless.
You should wait for the warm weather (not this weekend by the look of the forecast) take the top off and go out for a days driving on some quiet A-roads, to hear and feel the S2000 in summer mode

I suppose it's like the granny who uses her CD player as a cup holder
Or like people who buy off roaders and never use them off road
as for sleeping in your dinner hour you can do plenty of sleeping in your 18 weeks you have for holidays
please can you put something on the side of your car that says "I didn't buy this for it's intended purpose"

1. It looks better.
Better than the soft top, but not better than topless
2. I'm not a poseur.
Good for you!
3. I don't need my hair blowdrying.
I do, but never in the S - I'd look
4. I don't want birds/people using my car as a toilet/litterbin
So don't leave it parked with the top down, this shouldn't stop you from driving it topless.
5. I don't have a garage, and I like sleeping at night time.
Me neither, me too.
6. I park in a school car park, and I like sleeping at breaktime/lunchtime/lessontime.
Scary stuff, but shouldn't you be marking books, planning lessons and teaching instead of sleeping?
7. This country's climate wasn't designed for convertables anyway.
The weather in this country is great for topless action.
Forget all this parking/security nonsense. Have you actually gone out on a beautiful day
and really given it some ??? If not, you really should try it some time!
