Just to reiterate the advice here, I'd say you were asking for trouble (by doing anything other than playing with the spacing that is).

As many people know, I got an SP30 on Easter Monday. The TO issuing the ticket commented on my plate and asked if I knew it was illegal (S200 OPE, spaced to read S2000 PE). I said yes. He said that was OK, he wouldn't do anything about it as it was quite memorable anyway. BUT he said that he and his colleagues had a real problem with people who deliberately tried to alter the plate to read something entirely different by using odd fonts and moving the screws. Those would get booked, and they probably would lose their plate.

The problem is my initials are IJB and getting a substitute 1 for the I in there is a real problem.

Perhaps I'll just have to change my name by deed-pole!

TIF and I both have the GB/Euro section and it looks fine

It's a little small on this pic but you can see the spacing OK

Indeed it does, Pete. My point wasn't so much that it didn't look right with the GB section, just that the gap might be even more pronounced without it, so making the "fake" letter representing the final 0 look maybe even more like a 0.

That said, I'm still happy with my new plates, GB section or not!
