What YOU have done to your car!

Trying to jetwash off a stubborn birdshit stain from roof, grazed roof with water jet!
MX-5: Carefully propped bike on neighbour's wall, so it wouldn't fall on car. Sudden gust of wind drove it straight across drive, steering it into rear wing. It looked as deliberate as an animation!

not quite accidental but stupid.
my first car was a triumph herald convertable that i restored. i did all the bodywork first as the car was a runner and then started working on the mechanicals whilst keeping the car on the road.
i had a squeek from what i thought was the water pump so i thought one saturday afternoon that i would replace it with the one i had attached to the spare engine i had in the garage. after i replaced it i found the new one leaked so had to put the old one back on. in doing so i stripped a thread in the water pump housing. not a problem i thought, i'll put the one from the spare engine on. in doing so i sheared a bolt in the head and cocked up drilling it out. not a problem i thought, i'll put the spare cylinder head on.
duly did this and put it all back together again and it ran fine but still with squeek from the water pump. 3 days later i realised that the fan belt was so worn it was running on it's teeth and the squeek was coming for that. i ended up spending a week replacing the cylinder head and numerous other parts all because of a worn fan belt.
you live and learn!
doh!

Fortunately not in the S, I parked up in a multi-storey carpark very close to a concrete pillar on the passenger side (as a result of the -wit on the driver's side parking almost into "my" bay, and there being no other spaces free). As I returned to the car to leave, I forgot I had left it with the wheels turned - I reversed out, promptly smacking the passenger mirror on the pillar, then mashing it into the passenger door A
