Default what wheels?

basically my rear tyres are just legal but i do not want to change the tyres yet due to doing a drag/sprint event with a jap ownersclub im in. its all for charity so thought id do my part.. anyway i litterly need 2 wheels with legal tread on them to put on my car to get me home and then back off again whilst my alloys are having tyres put on.. soooooooo i need to know if anyone knows what wheels i can put on that will fit say off a different car so i can go down the scrap yard and get some as i dont want to pay loads for them... thanks will

oh and my car is a 2003 model but i have on the back 245/40/17

Can you get the likes of Event Tyres to turn up to the place the sprint event and fit some new ones once you've finished?

Simpler and cheaper than mucking about with scrap yards.

yeh but how much do they carge to fit the tyres i can get some bridgestone potenza re050 £125 each

I believe Toyota wheels fit. MR2 wheels anyway.

Never tried myself, but have read around that they fit.

Not sure I understand this. I'm not advocating driving on illegal tryres, but if they are just about legal, I'm sure they will get you back from your event and get them changed for new ones the next day.

Event's website says £153 each for the correct RE050MZ tyres but they may give you an owners club discount. Give them a call. Even if you do pay £50 more overall, I can't believe it's worth the hassle and cost of buying some wheels and tyres from a scrapyard.
