Honda sold the warranties and therefore it is their responsibilty to honour them. My dealer has already confirmed that Honda UK would be honouring the agreements

If you are needing to buy an extended warranty try one of the direct providers:

http://www.theaa.com/allaboutcars/warranty...rranty_home.jsp

http://www.warrantydirect.co.uk/quote_page...812771131451799

(Beware of some of the others - I think you will find "Warranty Wise" was Warranty Holdings anyway.)

If you are making a claim on Hondacare get your Honda dealer to sort (the t's and c's state that the cover is a guarantee provided by Honda so I think they will be obliged to sort it out)!

SLS,

I e-mailed Honda on the very subject and got the following reply

[QUOTE] Thank you for your recent email to Honda UK. The official line from Honda UK
on the aforementioned situation is as follows

That message from Honda smells like BS to me. Warranty Holdings are the administrators but also the suppliers of the warranties. They did/do have an insurance company that underwrites the policy - AXA, so all exisitng policies should be honoured with no problems, but new policy holders should double check.

I am sure that Honda will end up carrying the can and paying for the repairs until either WHG sort themselves out or Honda sign up with a new warranty company. Ford own WHG so it will be interesting to see what happens. I am sure Ford will get shot of them since the administrators are in, but since they were the largest Warranty company I would be suprised if someone didn't buy them.

I think you'll find:

1. Honda UK underwrite the Hondacare risk themselves as a "guarantee" (not insured by AXA or NIG) and so cover under this will not be affected by the demise of Warranty Holdings (HUK will only lose out to the extent that they will have to carry out/pay somebody else to carry out the administration work under the scheme that they will have already paid WH for).

2. Nobody will want to buy what remains of WH - they would only have been worth any "goodwill" remaining following the absolving of their debts and that will all be evaporated by now!

Further to Mikdys' point 1 above, I was told that WH were actually given access to Honda's systems in order to provide whatever admin services they were being paid for, so the only problem that Hondacare warranty holders would potentially have would be a delay in the processing of a claim until someone else was brought in to man the system. I was told categorically (and this is in line with the other WH threads on the board) that there was absolutely no danger of claims not being honoured as a result of WH's position.
