[QUOTE=Saxo Boy,Sep 1 2005, 01:11 PM] Will it pass a ferrari on the outside of a corner and put 10 car lengths on it down the 1/4 mile? No. Thus I will NEVER want one. My point is simply that its not fast enough to overcome what it gives up in desirability, looks and image. I don't doubt its an outstanding car but it wears a Honda badge and looks pants compared to a ferrari (subjective I know) and both those things count loads in its target market. There is better way to spend money on a new car and better ways to spend 20-30k on a second hand one too. As I said, I'd take a

Actually, Saxo is right.
80% of people are only interested in the badge, which was why the NSX was a sales disaster.
Even if the car was 100% more for 10% less, the Jap crap stigma would stick.
Some people actually buy 'Diesel' Jeans.
Honda should stick to Pizza bikes.

Why Scoobynet? why a BMW forum? both have the wrong types in their ranks to make an informed, disinterested post. if you see what i mean. I expect pistonheads and some more balanced forums would respect and admire the NSX for what it is/was.
I'm not a badge snob, I drove an S2000 as opposed to a boxter, etc. However, the more money you spend on a car the less you get back. For the extra money it costs for a 911 over a boxter do you get proportionally more kit/performance/etc. No. Similarly a

I'd rather be a shepherd than a sheep though
I've also thought of a car that has no image but does cut the mustard. The noble. Its effectively just a blown on P.O.S ford engine in a not-particularly-attractive shell. However, its a lot cheaper than the competition and far far far faster so you can justify it. The NSX is not far faster nor far cheaper and thats my problem with it.

I would take the one that I prefer and know will suit my needs and requirements and give me the reliability that will be needed.
We are talking about a whole package.
I don't buy something because of a badge. I could if I wanted sell my cars and go and buy a F430 / Murcielago / whatever.
Do I, no. Because to me it's not about bragging rights etc.
The NSX is right for me now, that is why I have it.
In a few years the Lambo / Ferrari / more likely Zonda will be right for me, so I will buy it. For now the NSX will suffice.
But I will also keep the S2000, which could if I wanted be traded in for a brand new Poxster, will it, we'll see.

Am I alone in hating the term "Rarri" ranks alongside "Stook" in my book
Fezza is slightly better, but if you are going to worship the car then at least use it's proper name
Oh and I prefer s2kip to stook !!
