I saw a guy had 18's on the back and 17's on the front recently. It looked weird, the front wheels looked very small and the wheel arch gap was huge, a few other people agreed with me too . You want 18's all round. Don't listen to any of this about 17's making your car go faster. If they do it's minimal and you would have to be a competent driver to notice it. Put it this way if you get 17's and I get Jenson Button to drive mine with 18's , I know who my money would be on

Except when going REALLY mental, like the car is bouncing down on to the ground with massive force, even then I think it is the plastic trims rubbing the road rather than the tyres rubbing on the arches.
