Default What is this sensor for?

The one that is attached to the oem airbox? Has two air hoses attached and its manufacturer is Denso.
When I installed my intake I used a zip tie to attach it to the intake arm, a few inches away from where it was.

Just need to know what it is that I interfered with.

Cheers

It doesn't seem to be sensing the box. It just uses a bracket on the box apparently simply as a place to live.
Maybe ambient air pressure sensor?

It's not a sensor it's the vacuum tank bypass control solenoid valve.

Thats exactly it.

It just the trigger solenoid that uses vacuum / no vacuum to open and close the valve on the discharge of the air pump (as Chris says).

I'm pretty sure mine has 3 nozzles and only 2 with tubes attached...will this cause an issue? What exactly does it do again as I didn't really understand the explanation given above...

Cheers,

Floppy

What does the air pump do? is it another word for aircon? Pardon my ignorance.

I was wondering why this thing goes all the way out to the airbox then back again instead of just being part of wherever the pipes are coming from... Thats why I thought it was a sensor...
