What RPM do you cruise around at?
Yes yes - probably a bit of an anal question.
The car is relatively new to me, I was just wondering what RPM you toodle around at, at around 30 - 60mph?
On most 'normal' cars that'll be averaging around 2,500 rpm...
But given the big rev band the S has.. - do you select a gear that'll leave you at the same 2.5 - 3k rpm?
Just curious!

I rev much higher than normal cars.
Sitting at 4.5-5k is pretty normally, no drone and instant throttle response.
These engine like revs, so let them have some!

If I'm driving in a speed restricted area I'll choose a lower gear/higher revs than I would in other cars in order to curb the tendency for the speed to creep up. So I'm usually around 4 - 5k rpm. Not good for the mpg I know, but cheaper than points on the licence and the associated hike in insurance premiums or, god forbid, losing my licence completely!

6000rpm and above as often as I can
HKS Exhaust && HKS Intake && (tunnels | roof down) = MASSIVE GRIN && VTEC

For normal driving with no hope of overtaking, just going with the flow, 5th gear is fine at 30, so about 2,500. 40mph minimum for 6th.
I love that this car can drive quite easily in town traffic as well as the 'odd' thrashing down the dual carriageway.

I find the S easier to drive "at" the speed limit (be it 30, 40, 50, 60 or 70) than my previous Type R. Not sure if it's simply down to the speedo being such large digits that you can't fail to miss, or the gearing being just right or a better response from the loud pedal.
When the need arises sitting just on the speed limit seems much easier than the Civic which seemed to suffer from speed creep and I'd find myself in points territory above the limit very easily. The S seems to sit "just there" so easily.
Then again I also find myself more inclined to drive the S above the speed limit, but it takes a more conscious effort and hence I think it's a safer car to drive in that respect because you're more aware of what you're doing.
