What pressures for new Toyo T1-R's
Guys just replaced my old SO2 rears with Toyo Proxy T1-R's
The rears (T1-R'S) are 245 45 16 as reccommended by the club inflated to 33psi
The fronts (So2'S) Standard size from factory inflated to 30psi
Ride is a lot more comfortable on the Toyo's but on hard cornering it feels like im sitting on top of a jelly!!! Feels quite unstable!!!
The garage reccommended 33psi but I have read that some S2K guys run these Toyo's at 36-38psi to eliminate the side wall flex? Is this what I am feeling?
The side walls feel softer than the SO2's when I push them with my fingers...im a bit dissapointed with the Toyo T1-R's at the moment and regretting buying them at the moment im going to try more pressure in them but I can't see it making that much of a difference?
Can someone with a similar set up tell me whats the best pressures etc??
Thanks

Mine are 35psi and seem fine. I didn't want to go over the top and for the rear just to snap out on hard cornering. 35psi just seemed to be a bit more progressive to me although it was just down to trial and error in the end. Whatever feels comfortable to you I guess though.

I've found Toyo Proxes need a 'bedding in' period to get the most out of them. When I had the T1-S's on my TVR they certainly needed this, and that came from Toyo themselves so I presume for the T1-R's it's the same. I've got them on mine and personally really like them because they give a nice progressive break from traction, good for getting the car sideways if that's your thing.
Anyway, give them time and see if they change.
Incidentally, my S is going to it's new home this Saturday. Will be sad to see it go, brilliant car.
Edited to say I ran mine at 33psi and couldn't find any fault with that setup.

I contacted Toyo regarding this and here's their reply:
We recommend that replacement tire pressures be set to at least 35 psi fronts and 32 psi rears to ensure that the load carrying capacity meets factory specs. If you have any further questions or comments, please contact Toyo Tires consumer relations department at (800) 442-8696.
Sincerely,
ToyoTech
From reading threads on here, this should be increased to 38fr and 34rr for track work...

My car feels terrible with T1-R's on the rear....I pulled out to overtake in 2nd gear hit VTEC and the car wobbled!! slightest movement of the steering left and right at speeds over 60 and the back end wags and feels very unstable!!
Im seriously considering selling them!! never had this prolem with the SO2's I think its the soft side wall that is causing all the problems it doesn't even feel stable accelerating!! lke sitting on top of a jelly!
HELP!!!!!!!!!!!
