It is a minefield, everyone has their own opinion. Personally I don't think you can go wrong with Redline

Ohh - an oil thread. I these.
Fully synthetics are best. Any reputable brand with the correct viscocity rating will be fine.
Castrol, Total, Redline, Silkolene, Valvoline all come highly recommended by folks on here. (Castrol personally)
Semi synthetics also fine but do not offer the absolute in protection. If you plan to hoon around most of the time with 8500 rpm showing then not such a good idea. On the other hand if 90% of your real life driving is 70mph on the motorway then they are fine.
Observe the oil change interval whatever you choose. Honda do not advocate the use of long life oils which makes them a waste of money. Check the oil level very regularly. The engine can consume oil quickly on some occasions particularly when VTEC'ing hard.

5W-30, 5W-40, 10W-30 or 10W-40 should all be absolutely fine.

Just to clarify - if toppng up it does not matter what you put in on top of what is already there. Oils, unlike brake fluids, don't fight each other. (Observe viscocity rating etc. and appologies to Dembo - it's desirable if the oil is good but not essential.)
