Default What oil?

Having tried to use the rubbish search facility on this forum (you can't just choose the UK section to search) i've given up and started a new thread.

My 06 S is about to come up to its first service and i'm wondering what fully synth oil to use in it. In my last S (and previous Hondas) i used to Mobil 1 0w40 but some people seem to think its a bit too thin.

What oils are recommended here. I think Magnatec is a fairly well used oil here but are there any others that are worth using?

Cheers

Matt

Serious answer: Mobil 1 is what I've been using.

Yes you can - you just need to use the Advanced Search.

See the link in the "READ THIS FIRST!" thread stuck at the top of the board.

(Yes, I know, don't ask me why The Powers That Be don't put a link to the advanced engine somewhere prominent )

All the years i've been here and i didn't know that. Any other forum i use has a nice little handy "advanced search" icon by the side if the search button.

Cheers Mark.

Dembo, i was going to use Mobil 1 as i can get it cheap as chips from Costco. You do a fair amount of track days on it don't you?

Yes, but to be honest I've never put a lot of thought or effort into choosing oil (it's a very complicated and very boring subject). I was going to buy the Shell fully synth, but couldn't find a Shell garage that had the right stuff, whereas Halfords is 5 minutes walk from home...
