Off to Cornwall on Thursday for a few days..... Determined to have the car run-in by the time we get back.
Mind you, 600 miles since Sept 1st ain't too bad I guess!
Although the FAQ's suggest 800 miles running-in, our dealer reckoned on 1200, so I think we'll err on the cautious side, especially considering most of the mileage has been 60-70MPH A-roads, which isn't recommended. However, should be able to get some serious load variation on the engine around those Cornwall twisties.
After 1200, it was suggested we gradually work up the revs Anyone know if 1500 miles would be ok to give it total V-TEC?

We're also wanting to get to the Megameet at the end of the month - any suggestions on hotels which may still have any rooms, or are we too late?

The owners manula states 1000 km which is 625 miles. Then increas the rev range by 1000 rpm for every 100 miles. I was in full VTEC once I had 800 miles in this car and at 700 miles on my last one. No problems to-date

AL2 - unless they have changed the recommendation for the engine and AFAIAA they haven't. So it was recommeded to be

<600 miles = no VTEC
600<x<700miles = VTEC up to 7K revs
700<x<800 miles = VTEC up to 8K revs
800<x<900 miles = VTEC up to 9K revs

I won't be letting the girlfriend near the handbook tonight.....its her turn to use the car tomorrow ! I have it today, and should pass this mileage just as I arrive home tonight.
Now let me think.... where can I hide it?
I just feel I should be the one "testing it out" to see that everything's ok!

There was a surprising number of open-tops at 7pm on Sunday night around Cambridge, too. Pug 206CCs, MR2s, etc., etc.
No Ss, though

Popped around Cambridge Ring-road from Science Park, down to Linton, for a blast up the B1052 and B1061 to Newmarket, then back home.
A nice 60-mile circuit - a bit bumpy, but Mrs. U got plenty of use of the doorhandle, hanging on for dear life

Saturday was fantastic blue skies in the evening.

I also hope it lasts until MM1 - Sunny Welsh mountains -
