Default what do you think

Hi all,

thought i might as well join at last, to be honest though i'm a bit of a traitor. i'm only using the s2000 engine although from what i saw the rest of the car is probably now some tin cans or something like

i'm just finishing off a build with the s2000 engine/gearbox and diff, just wondered what people thought, at least it pushes up the scrap value of all your cars

build progress here

thanks
Chris

Not had chance to look at the website yet but I hope your running a Race Engine Design Dry sump or the engine's not going to last long as you get oil starvation on No4 Cylinder.
Are you trying to run the std ECU. I managed to get it all working with the std ecu but decided to get the AEM EMS instead and a wideband controller. There are various aftermarket ecu's suitable for the F20C engine, the best being the AEM, Motec M4 and Hydra. Emerald also do a nice ecu but it doesn't operate the V-tec in the same manner as the Honda unit.

What diff ratio did you decide on?
I decided to get the KAM 4.44:1 CWP and Quaife ATB LSD in a Sierra 7" Diff housing.
I also get some Titanium Drive shafts from Classic Conversions and a Carbon Fibre Propshaft from Torqline.

I did think about using an F20C in my Fury build, but in the end the complexity made me play safe and go for good old Rover V8 power. Hats off to anyone getting it working in a kit, I always thought it would be a good engine for a lightweight car.
I also used to race an MK chassis in the Locost chamionship.

Good website, now bookmarked.

I've bookmarked it too!

It's very brave & looking good!

I like the all-black theme of the 1st one. Always wanted a car like that!

Thanks for the comments, hopefully this time next week i'll be driving it

the ecu's a Hydra from tracktive, Richard Bulmer now's his stuff when it come's to ecu's and mapping. some of the cars he's worked on would back that up, (twin engined busa turbo'd Ultima for one)

i decided that a dry sump was a must, mainly due to the height as well as the report's i'd heard about engine's going bang.

both the driveshafts and prop are custom made jobbies, there both mated to the standard s2000 4.1 diff.

The manifold will be a custom made job again using 1 3/4" for the headers down in to 2x 2" and then into 3" this is then mated to a supertrapp exhaust 3" bore 5" discs. It's off for the manifold making on monday
