Steve -t-G has made a very good point. "Into the back of him" claims often go against the car behind. If he is a See You Next Tuesday, he might deny everything........ Get as much evidence as you can that he was reversing (too fast).

Sorry to hear about this.
Sounds like it has potential to get a bit sticky - you reversing but not fast enough? Hmmm..........
I learned a long time ago that it can be useful to include the following statement in any claim if possible:
"I was stationary when the other vehicle struck me ".
I can just imagine that if another vehicle reversed into you whle you were at a standstill, it might read better than you failing to take evasive action. You might want to think about this.
Good luck anyway.

Sorry to here about it Lotusman, lying about accidents to the insurance company is too common these days, I`ve suffered myself.
Trouble with those milkfloats is they may only be travelling slowly but they have 3 tons of batterys underneath that wreck the other vehicle.
I used to work near to a dairy, we used to stop work to watch the morning milkfloat grand prix, one morning a float didn`t make the bend and wrote off 5 cars in our car park.
Hope it goes ok

Carl, he said it was a "petrol milk float" so probably wouldn't have had "3 tons of batterys underneath"
Sorry to hear about it though, I had it happen to me in a multi story car park when I was driving my mums car. Went up the ramp and the bloke in front of me went the wrong way when he got to the top (old man in even older tank like Volvo) someone wanted to go down the down ramp that he was now blocking so he started to reverse back into me, I couldn't go back as I had a car behind me then he decided to try and say I drove into him.
Even though I had 2 witnesses the insurance claim still took about 3 months of them arguing and was only resolved when he finally admitted it was his fault.
