What colour is brake fluid?

If you don't think you can go on the level in the way that Kobe contructively suggested, get a syringe and take some of the fluid out of the reservoir. If it is perfectly clear, then its probably new fluid. If it looks mucky or has bits in it, it probably hasn't. There is no definative way to tell just on colour.

have a look at the back of one of your calipers. the bleed nipple should be pretty clean if they've changed it..

My DOT 5.1 fluid was light brown, like new engine oil. The old stuff was similar but slightly more brown (DOT3?). it also had a lot of 'crap' in the old fluid that could have been pushed out the calipers into the lines. If they had bled it properly this should be clear. However it's not the end of the world if there is some left.
