To get down to serious matters, what's the correct dress code for an airfield speedy-driving event? (Thinking of the North Weald Airfield day coming up in October)

Of course. But it's impossible to check the nearside of my car whilst its in the garage as it's parked 33.2mm from the wall.

the spacesaver should only be fitted to the front

the front wheel should then be put on the rear as a temporary replacement (unless you like chewed up diffs)

as per the handbook
