Default What are the best Spark Plugs and Oil....

I have looked through many a thread on both of these but would like to know what the best (or most suitable) are for my usage.

The car is used everyday, however, during the week it is a mere 3 miles in the morning and 3 miles in the evening - the temperature bar is barely on 3 bars for more than a minute) On the weekends it will get more of a run.

I have looked at nice plugs (big service coming up and want to provide my own) and nice oil but nice oils aren't normally suitable for this kind of usage.

So far, I am of the opinion to stick with Castrol GTX Magnatec 10wx40w (current oil as used by mikeyk when he sold it) and get hold of some OEM plugs - as I would fear any high performance plugs would deteriorate?

Any thoughts welcome and appreciated..

I would go for a 5W 40 which will give a slightly better cold start lubrication than a 10w - given your car is cold most ofthe time. Also I would advise a fully synthetic rather than a semi. You could even go to a 0W.

No-one can say one is better than another in terms of brand, but ive always used Motul, on the S I use 5w 40 300V from Alyn at www.asperformance.co.uk

Plugs, just use the OEM ones but buy yourself. Alyn will do these too. Tell him I sent you

(I have no business interest, he's just good to deal with and helped me out a few times!)

The chap is asking for most suitable.

I think 10W is thicker than you need given the temps the car will be seeing....

Excellent, thanks for that - couple more points...

Do dealers generally allow you to supply your own plugs/oil as long as they are suitable (warranty wise)

Could you check the web address for your mate - unable to get website with that one...

Cheers

In my experience - yes.

Where are you located ? No doubt someone could tell you where to go in your area.

Yeah they dont mind at all. One bonus of the Motul is that it smells like bubble gum so you know if they used it or not!
