Its definatley a valid point.
I agree that 1.6mm on rear tyres of a RWD is not sufficient and the S is no exception.
I'm not convinced you can put a time on replacing tyres!

I did not mean hang on till autumn it was more change for new regarless, i have in the past changed tyres and kept the part worn for next summer just so i had new rubber for the winter, with the limited milage i do i managed to get the timming right so the tyres were just getting on the low side as we hit autumn weather.

As ive said in another topic, just put Proxes TR1's on the car and it now actually wants to stay on the road in the wet didnt like the potenza's at all, i live in Scotland where its wet ALL of the time and the narrow tread channels made for some pretty lairy travels to and from work...........as 1 of my friend said, the S makes you feel like Micheal Schmacher in the dry but you better be Micheal Schumacher to drive it fast in the wet

i use toyo now, not been around when its been realy wet so cant comment on wet weather handling, in the dry/damp they are fine i think they let go a little earlier than the s02's but its gradual and can easily be stopped
