WOW!!! Good morning....
how to resolve? Remove and push the plunger back in and refit with the wing nut...
Just to clarify..... as we need to be crytal clear.....
The wing nut was still wound up.... it was like the last seal was a bit hard to push in.... and as I didn't want my hand to slip off and the TCT then it fall out on the floor so I popped the bolts in... and let them pull it in safely before unwinding the wing nut and then fitting the outer back plate!
Any advise please :-) cars on the drive today as I was going to do an oil change.... I will remove it, use the wing nut and bolt to draw the plunger in again a d refit as described.... wowzers.... cheers guys!!

So today,
Magnetic drain plug - Js Racing
10w-40 petronas syntium 1000
why 10-40? That's what the book says and hope to keep this chain rattle away period! Couldnt find casterol edge 10w-40.... so pretronas it was, car had petronas 5w-40 previously.
I guess its more important to change the oil than use a thinner oil.... anyway.
Thanks Si at HendyPerformance.

Was there instructions with the TCT mate ?
What I would do is remove the TCT and then retract the plunger using the bolt and nut it came with.
Then remove the TCT plug in the front of the head.
Slowly turn back the engine a whisker to put a touch more slack on the tensioned side of the chain.
Refit the TCT and make sure you are not preloading the chain by looking through the hole in the head.
If in any doubt then get an experienced person to do it or contact Ballade direct to get their advice.
Good luck

In this pic of your new TCT it looks to be in the correct position for installation, he sends them out ready to fit so provided that you didn't undo the wing nut before you fitted then i would imagine it was the seal that caused the resistance did you lube it with soft soap or oil first,
plus a word of caution unless you are experienced do not turn the engine backwards without the TCT fitted as suggested, One persons whisker is totally different than another's .
