Default Well thats new...

OK, after I wash the car when I lock it the alarm often goes off! I haven't been too bothered by this really, but it is annoying - possibly only happens with the hardtop on, but cant be sure!

Anyway, this morning I went out to the car, which hasn't been driven for a few days amd was covered in morning dew (parked uner a carport so not soaking wet), unlocked it, got in, started it up and...alarm goes off! Very strange. Turn engine off, lock the car with me inside, unlock it, start engine - same again, alarm going mad, engine still running!

Getting annoyed now, so engine off, out i get, shut the door, lock it, unlock it, back in and nervously thumb the starter and...silence! Brilliant.

Still wondering why its going off though, dodgy connector by the sounds of it, but how do I find out which one?

If it is the Honda UK installed alarm it is a POS. If it isn't broken now it won't be long until it is.

Diddo.. I replaced the battery and it fixed it.

Check sensors too though. the one under the bonnet needs grease, if it gets wet the alarm rings.

Well it only happens when damp so not sure if the battery is at fault! I'll bung the battery on charge later though and see if that helps. Is this the main car battery I take it, not a seperate alarm one?

Will take a look at the bonnet sensor too - will motorcycle chain lube do the job?!

Hmm, interesting....like I said, I'll give the battery a good charge and spray some chain lube on the sensors and see how that goes!!

Any idea how old is the battery? Might not hold the charge as it used it anymore so you might still have the same issue.

When you start the car you hammer the battery hard, the voltage drops until it gets some charge from the alternator.
The alarm monitors votage transients, so it thinks maybe someone has tried to disconnect the battery.

This happens after its been left, the battery is probably no longer holding a full charge so change it out.
