Default Weird noise from rear nearside

Since the car was serviced and gear-box oil changed, there's a weird noise coming from the back end. When the car is idling and in neutral (not sure about other conditions) the sound is coming from behind the near-side rear wheel. It sounds like something loose making a loudish rattle/bang noise...

Any clues?

Exhaust hanger rubber cut/removed by dealer so you will return for a new exhaust later

If its in neutral then the rear end of the drivetrain is not moving, in fact, nothing is moving?! Have you caught an old granny in your wheelarch and she's banging to be released?

It'll be something resonating like the Exhaust or perhaps a brake back plate.

Probably the oily monkey who serviced your car knocked something. Get somebody to hold the exhaust when it's makeing the noise to see if it goes away.

If not exhaust, then fuel pump or something round that area, rattling from spare wheel holder ??

With the engine not running can you move exhaust (let it cool down) and make any rattles etc ??

I tried moving the exhaust on that side, from inside the wheel arch, and nothing was loose - couldn't make it rattle.

It is a bit odd, I tried to record it last night with the camera phone, so if that comes out I'll post !

Def. in idle though, seeing as I was crawling around under it at the time

Maybe there's something loose inside the exhaust, would be hard to make it rattle by shaking it but you would hear it when idling.
