Wow that pretty comprehensive, both my waxws I have fared poorly (mothers reflections and Megs gold class) The Megs NXT did better, but turtle wax as the winner? what do our experts on here think?
My old man will have a field day, he has been using turtle wax hard paste for years....

If you look at their criteria it's hardly surprising that Turtle Wax came out on top...
So if it's slightly expensive you're out
If the shine doesn't months you're out
If the application process is slightly longwinded or technical you're out.
the last thing you want to see is all the hard graft of polishing vanish with the first rain shower, so at the heart of our test is stamina.
We tested all types of product, including polishes, waxes, sealants, synthetics and the latest offerings which you apply straight after rinsing your motor. Two bonnets were used, and we left control areas to ensure equal conditions. Our samples were checked regularly over eight weeks to see which were still beading water and offering protection. The test was two weeks longer than previous assessments, really stretching each product.
We also took into account ease of application and, of course, cost. The figures quoted are pack prices, and do not include delivery charges from online sources.

Why did they compare sealants, waxes and polishes with the same criteria?! Is it me or did they not compare polishes by how well the actually polished?!

Dumbing down for a 21st century world.
They want an easy 1 product 'all in one' approach rather than using several products in combination to get a better result.

Think that answers your question.
Many hacks passed their english exams (probably because they spent all day flapping their heads & not listening in class) & failed everything else.
The days of Laurence Pomeroy & LJK Setright are long gone, I'm afraid.

And the point
I'd say quite a chunk of the populace doesnt pay their Vectra as much attention as a S2000 enthusiast/owner hence they want a single bottle solution that makes the car shiny, without taking all day, lasts through a few rainy weeks and doesnt cost a fortune. no?
