I wave if I see another S - one followed me for half a mile in Edinburgh the other day - waved at each other as he passed me at a junction later.
Unfortunately I was on foot when I saw my second S of the day, driven by a fit looking burd. Only excuse I can think of to wave at women I don't know without looking like I should be on a register somewhere.
Bikers always wave/nod at each other - it was a major milestone for me when I gained enough confidence/ability to release my vice like grip from the handlebar to return the wave
