Thought you might want to know, just had this replaced under warranty due to corrosion. It's the black metal strip that runs across the front of the car in the engine bay, held in by ~5 bolts. Not a big job but found that the underneath of the strip was all bubbled & corroded but luckily no damage to the paintwork. Not sure why it corroded as I clean & dry that area after each time I wash the car (weekly).

This is the black strip sat on the rubber seal for the front edge of the bonnet! Unusual it should corrode! Like you say easy (DIY) replacement if not under warranty. Bet the bit is silly money from the stealer! Had my bumper off at the weekend so looked over this bit. It only stiffens the bumper next to the front edge of the bonnet and carries the seal for it.

Honda refer to it as the "front bumper upper beam" (as opposed to the real "bumper beam" on the chassis legs.

I had exactly the same issue with mine - no reason for it and they replaced it very quickly

I just hammerited mine and the top radiator brackets a couple of weeks ago due to the same problem.
