Do a search in the UK forum as it was discussed a couple of months ago. You should be pleasantly surprised!

so how do i go about swapping the existing warranty to my name? do I just send off a form or do I have to speak with someone at a particular dealer?

As far as I am aware, you don't need to do anything, Steve. There's a form in the service book to fill in and send to Honda to record a change of ownership, but I think that's just so you're on their mailing list if ever there was a need for a recall, or something like that.

I think that any dealer would be able to tell the age of the car, and therefore whether it was still under the original warranty, by checking the registration or the chassis number on their computer. If its in warranty, the work should then be done.

Steve,

Your service book will have the start date of your warranty.

As far as I know, what Mark has said above is totally correct.
