The engine's really good as is too. You'd definitely get more out of the suspension for less outlay than you would from the engine.

But it all depends whether you want to make the car genuinely better, or you want to go to car shows and show off your mods.

engine no doubt is good but its been feeling sluggish lately and hear other drivers say filters and exhausts allow better response i thought might give those mods a go. Plus mines an old S new Ss use drive by wire so would be different right?

Only 06 and 07 S2k has DBW all the other ones are regular throttle. There's still a marked response improvement in a DBW with an induction kit.

Personally I like K&N Gen 2, it's good and it's cheap.
If I was to do the exhaust again I would buy the Mugen over the HKS for the extra

HKS stuff is generally not too good IMO if you are looking at filters etc. They dont filter anyhting.

Id considder an HKS exhaust, as I had one and I liked it for its low volume, but it offers no more power.

If you want more from it, you are going to have to spend at least a couple of grand as all the tuning parts are seriously overpriced.

Tried and tested route is a good intake (K&N Gen II / AEM V2 / Gruppe M), a decent manifold (J's or Toda IMO), a decat and maybe a cat back exhaust, combined with an ECU such as the AEM.

That lot costs a shit load though.

No simple answer im afraid!

just a few more questions...single or a double exhaust??

single exhaust system would be lighter right as well as a straighter exhaust flow???

lol... I heard alot of Japanese ppl use HKS as after market so i had a look...i would go for either mugen or spoon ...

i did mention spoon earlier... has anyone used Spoon??

Btw thanks for the input i feel like i have a clearer idea of what i am ultimately going to head for:>

i did at one point consider an evo...

the services and tyres put me off as well an almost non existant mpg???... plus what fun would there be in driving in an EVO born for street racing without the fear of losing control cos its all done by electrics???? i'd be hapi with the stock evo let alone wanting to tune it...i suppose i have alot more passion for the S because it is the first performance car i have owned... was gonna go for an EP3 type r...but gf said it was too similar to the sport i had before...

the more i do to it the more i feel connected to the car???

wierd maybe....or maybe i just phrased it wrong???

whatever :>

Another Evo false rumour with regards to driving it

Only reason one will lose control in the way you mention is the driver not understanding how the AYC works.

Im not a fan of any Mugen bits, and only a few Spoon parts. Lookup J's Racing and Toda too.

With regards to an evo, on track IN MY EXPERIENCE, I've not met a well driven one. I'm sure they're out there, I just haven't come across one on track.

I have seen scoobys and evos spin. Fighting the electronics can be worse than no electronics.

Therefore, get yourself on a driving course.

I hear that they do very nice wheels and hardtops and that you can pick these up, used, *very* cheaply.
