Different electrics, different components needed (and hence more expensive since they have to be imported), electronically limited to 112mph (IIRC), more expensive to insure, need to ensure that it has been adapted and certified as meeting UK standards. That's just to start with. I'm sure those who know more can probably add to the list.
That's not to say that it's not worth doing - just that you need to be aware what you're getting into.

if it has already been imported and registered in UK..then the legal differences will have been sorted..what is the issue?
regarding insurance..story is mixed. Some companies can charge premium, but I have checked the figures myself and found the price to be no different if it was Japanese personal import or imported via Honda UK.

Here we go again !!
They all come down the same production line !
The only differences are cosmetic.
As Kobe says, if its already been on the road in the UK then all necessary mods are complete.
Mine's a beaut and I saved

Didnt see any mention of 'Jap' in them ads. Simple fact is that the price has now dropped to those levels. Supply and demand!!
The one with 56K on the clock is almost certainly not Jap!!! it would take the average Jap driver 14 years to achieve that mileage!!
The second one also says 'remaining warranty', if thats HUK warranty then again its not jap as they wont honour a jap warranty, it could of course be a 3rd party warranty.
