Wonderful work as always - it almost seems a shame to drive it and get it all dirty :D

Ducting for the rears especially is a must if you are doing serious track/race work.

Cheers, yeah it will be! But it should drive like a completely different car so I'm itching to get it out now.

The ducts are this weekends task...

Thanks for the other comments guys.:)

You wait until you get to try the Ohlins, you won't be disappointed. They really are as good as the hype :)

Hope not! Always wanted to try them and see if they live up to the hype!

KFC is finally ready to emerge from the workshop! I've spent a lot of time waiting for parts the last couple of months but I think it's ready to face an MOT...

Brake ducting was one thing I wanted to get sorted before going back to the track, the melted paint on the oem wheels was a good sign it was needed. For the fronts I purchased the ducts which bond in where the fog duct blanks are, they're a tidy fit once the blanks have been cut out -

For the rears I wanted to go with the cheap and simple option of a vacuum cleaner attachment as the duct like I'd seen the american's using however it seems we don't use big enough vacuum cleaners over here! So I ended up contacting a company that made 3D printed ducts (JF3D) and asked for one the suit the bolt hole positions of the rear wind deflectors, the sample produced fitted first time and looked good:

With the inlet ducts figured out it was then onto fitting the outlets in the brake disc shields, I found some ventilation ducts that would work then set about the dust shields with the hole saw:

https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...4c1860f0_b.jpg

The fronts are a good fit but the rears aren't great due to the dust shield shape leaving a gap where the hole is cut at the top and bottom, so some forming of the duct is required and then I used some aluminium tape to seal it. Once the actual ducting finally turned up that was fitted up :

On the front the ducting is a tight fit but just clears the 235 tyre... the 255's I want to fit might be an issue!

Whilst waiting for more parts there were a couple of small jobs to do, the gearbox and diff were both filled with fresh fluid (Both OEM honda fluids) and the brakes were bled through once the stoptech pads were refitted. The diff fluid was probably a bit overdue:

https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...ccc76a2f_b.jpg

I then fitted a resistor into the air pump wiring to hope keep the engine management light off;

https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...12165ab7_b.jpg

Another engine management light issue was the rear 02 sensor requirement, I'm planning to run a decat but will need the sensor in there to keep the light off, however the sensor was not so keen on being removed from the non-oem cat which was fitted to KFC when I bought it. Despite a lot of heat, special 02 socket and brute force I ended with the sensor not coming our and broken vice to show for my efforts, so that's another part to add to the waiting list;

The final missing piece then turned up:

https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...e74e826e_b.jpg

An HKS Hi power single exhaust, obviously a fairly common choice and for me it ticks the boxes of what I was after - single for weight saving, large diameter so it's future proofed if/when I go supercharged and it looks good! I wasted no time getting this on as soon as it arrived:

https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...be4f4ec7_b.jpg

https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...b5e16b37_b.jpg

Onto the final checks I torqued all the bolts, fitted the advan wheels then cursed myself for not checking the lights were working before doing that - the sidelight bulbs are such a pain in the arse to get to! I was at least happy to see my foglight wiring into the reverse light was working:

https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...8c7b4dba_b.jpg

With the front wheels refitted again the S2000 was finally ready to fire up... but the battery wasn't despite saying it was fully charged it didn't have enough left to start the car. So another few days waiting for a new battery then I could finally get the S200 out the workshop and admire the rusty orange hue in daylight:

https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...12aa9937_b.jpg

A quick wash then a quick polish and wax and it's almost looking too good to be thrown round a track...

The MOT is booked for the coming week so fingers crossed that goes ok then after an alignment I can finally see what all the new parts have done to how KFC drives.
