Hi Guys,
I’m after a little advice and i hope the following makes sense, I decided i was going to give the car a bit of a blast in the sunshine on my way home from work yesterday. after a 15 minute warm up pootle of about 5 miles i pushed my foot into the carpet and as 6000RPM was reached there wasn’t the usual VTEC kick but only about half of it, i kept my foot down then at 8000RPM the rest of the Kick came along.

I thought it may have been a one off but it keeps doing it, its like its splitting the VTEC between 6000 and 8000 RPM

My car is MY05 and bog standard


Have any of you ever heard of this before

I have this same thing! The link above is my thread from the other day. I'm looking into getting my injectors cleaned now as oil is fine and spark plugs look ok (but could probably do with replacement anyway).

From what I remember sound_wave had this issue right after buying his S from a main stealer a few years ago. I'm 99% sure that it was the map sensor at fault as suggested by MB in the other thread on this topic.

Might be worth dropping sound_wave a pm.
