I'd go along with that. Not sure how it compares to the "lid off" as I'd never tried it. But it's not too loud.

The sound is essentially the same as with airbox lid off but you don't get the funny humm/whine/drone at idle

Well worth it.

Question... I enquired about this kit earlier and K&N didnt know it existed, are previous kits being bought from the states?

Anyone who has one at the moment has had it imported as K&N Uk didnt support it.

Now they do

The wanted to fit one of these to mine but they wouldn't let me stick around whilst they did it.

I ended up with a free filter as well. Theres a thread on here about 3 years old with me (probably) bitching the k+n muppets after wasting a holiday from work.

Got mine from Jays Performance on eBay. I think they are still selling them on there.

I am very interested in replacing the standard airbox, and fancy K&N having had their products in the past......am a bit confused about what is available for the S2000 though. Their website is very confusing! From what I can gather, they offer the following:
- Typhoon Intake Kit - Cold Air (various colours)
- Typhoon Short Ram
- FIPK 57 Series
- FIPK 63 Series

It appears as though the Short Ram is off the table - just sucks in hot air from the engine bay.

I am unsure of the difference between the 57 and 63 series FIPK kits. Anyone shed any light?

So I am left with FIPK vs CAI. Key difference (to me) appears to be that the CAI will require (some) cutting, and that the air filter is mounted much, much lower. Possible risk of hydro-lock - although I doubt it.

The FIPK looks a nice piece of kit. A few questions:
- Has anyone sourced one from a UK distributor? If not, where in the US?
- Will it fit an 05 S? (K&N website suggests not....but I don't believe it)
- Has anyone added a spoon-style snorkel to the FIPK? Would they work together?
- Anyone have strong feelings of CAI over FIPK?

Thanks!
