Thumbs up Virgin Cars

Found a good deal at Virgin Cars but never bought via an online dealer before. Has anyone had any experience of these guys?

I nearly bought a car from Virgin a while back.

I didn't though, as I wasn't sure they'd go all the way.

Never bought one from them but I understand they are now owned by D C Cook #2. I'm not saying that's a good or a bad thing but DCC #1 (which at the time was one of the biggest dealer groups in the country) went bust big time a couple of years ago leaving lots of unsecured creditors (including some punters that had paid for but didn't get their cars). Allegedly!

EDIT:

I couldn't find the original article about DCC #1 going bust but this one does refer to some extent:

Not personally but I've heard decent things about them anecdotally from people who have.

There is at least one person on here who has bought through them - although I can't for the life of me remember who.....

You need to be clear on delivery though, Rob - one bugbear about all of these kind of discount dealers is that it's frequent for it to slip, and sometimes by months.

Mind you, if you're in no rush to swap and aren't too fussed about when it actually arrives, that sounds like a very good deal.

Yes, they currently are quoting 4-6 weeks. But the small print does mention 'unforseen supplier delays' If I go this route then I'll pint them down on what I can expect, but I have a couple of test drives to complete first of all..

My mum bought a convertible Megane from them - very good experience indeed IIRC.
