"What a wanker" I thought to myself, only to realise the Police lights on top of the car. It wasn't a traffic car just a normal Focus runabout. They then got up behind me, and for a minute I thought they'd caught me drinking out my Starbucks cup!

I'm not sure non-traffic cops have much car training - doesn't surprise me really. You'd think they'd have enough excitement with the drugs busts, gangland killings, armed raids in that part of scotland without having to play starsky and hutch in a Ford Focus

You think the Police actually respond to things like that in dodgy areas? They wait till it's died down before showing face. They're too busy pulling over people for using mobiles or not wearing their seatbelt to worry about drug dealers and murderers.

You should have reported 'em.

There's no obligation to use the blues and twos when exceeding the limit btw.

My understanding is that unless the polis are attending a shout they don't have the okay to break the limits. The blues and twos are only to alert other road users and need to switched off when they are deemed not necessary.
