VERY loud whistling sound

I accidentally drove about 5 miles the other morning with just one catch on the soft top after a bit of open-air driving. I had the most annoying whistling sound until I realised my mistake!

update: squeeling noise with rattle quite bad today. it sound mettalic. had my rear tyres changed and the guy said he didnt think it was a wheel bearing but couldnt be definite...

is this a diff problem? does it squeel and rattle when there's something wrong??

Check your hub nut. If its not tight enough it can make some very strange noises that can go away in the wet as water gets in and acts as a lubricant.

cheers, will do. once its on the ramp (thursday) i'll let everyone know the cause. here's hoping its a cheap one
