Yes, its bloody frustrating, but its not going to send the value of sports cars through the floor because all sports cars are going to be in the same boat and if you buy and run a sports car you accept that its probably going to cost you more than a familly car.
And here lies the problem, the tax increase also hits a lot of family cars.

When I bought the CRV I checked that it was below the 225g/km. The government have now gone and introduced more bands and it will now cost me an extra

I also hate this government. But they did the same thing to band G cars last year. They set the bands retrospectively to include cars already purchased which included mine.

Yet because everyone is in the same boat i don't think it will have a huge impact on sports cars or niche vehicles. If someone wants an older CRV they'll still buy an older CRV. If its a toss up between an MY00 car with the lower tax or a MY01 with the higher tax it might make a difference but once you get into the price range of MY02 onwards people will still buy the newest car they can afford.

I'm just glad that i taxed my band G car yesterday morning and only paid

What annoys me with all this crap is that the UK probably puts out 1% of pollution in the worlds atmosphere and countries like India, China, Russia and the US are the biggest polluters out of all of them, are they going to do the same thing to stop CO2 emissions aswell?? LIKE #### THEY ARE!!!

This is just another way of getting cash to fund the Northern Rock fiasco and the Iraq war!!!

You are observing a government in terminal decline

Totally out of touch with voters

And pursuing narrow ideological aims

I think we have reached the point where they are doomed

More and more people are saying that ANYparty would be better than this lot

I find it hard to disagree

Blair must be p*ssing himself laughing

It's about time to consider my plan...

I'm sending my National Insurance Card and Passport to an overseas address via DHL and will be taking a crash course in Urdu, Albanian and one or two other useful languages. I'll then acquire an appropriate passport or two...

I plan to rob, steal, deal some gear, cause a few car crashes in my DHSS supplied car for a few whip-lash claims and then be repatriated with my

IMO:

[head above parapet]

I agree with more bands, there were too few before but there should be even more bands at the top. The S2000 is not exactly the worst car out there but we are nailed nearly as hard as someone driving a Range rover sport which is up to 374 g km or an F430 at 420 g km. The really heavily consuming cars tend to be

It's more of a Driveway Tax than a Road Tax.

The tax burden for the car sat on a driveway has gone up much more than that on the road.

That makes a whole load of sense
