Valve seats, lap in or recut?
Just a bit of a quickie I'm having new valve guides fitted to my head in the next week or so, should I be having the valve seats re-cut, lapped in or just left as is?
Plenty or arguments on the net for both recutting and just lapping in, thought I might see what the general thought was on here..

I don't have access to the workshop manual at the moment as I am at work otherwise I could check. Just looking at the B16 manual at the moment and it says the valve seats are 3 angle and that the valve guides should be replaced first and then the seats recut with a hand cutter at 30,45 and 60 degrees.

I cant find the article(s) now but I remember have a good read and thinking to myself "er, I'll leave those alone then" I think it's actually a 4 angle cut not 5 now I've had a bit of a think about it.

I only know of one local shop that does this kind of work and having been unimpressed with some of the bits they have done in the past I don't really want to take my S2000 head there.
Will have to do a bit more searching when I get home to try and find a quality machine shop with the right equipment.
Recommendations please

If you have valve guides replaced then you do need to get your valve seats recut 100%, as the new guide wont be in exactly the same position even if it is a fraction out you wont get a proper seal, always been the case TBH good luck mate.
