Default Valve clearances

Hi everyone.

Just a quick question,

what should they be?

I've got my mechanic doing a full fluid change tomorrow and he said he'd also check the valve clearances for me if I found out what they are.

I can't seem to get the search working on my phone so sorry if this has already been covered.

Yep, the car has been parked on his ramp for 15 hours so should be cold by now.

he has been a mechanic for a few yrs now. He's just never done this on an S before.

My 54k service was £350 at a honda Dealer, including all fluids and plugs. the did the valve clearances perfectly. (This was about 5 years ago though).

Not all Honda dealers are rubbish, and it's worth pointing out that they are offering a price match service at present. Get a quote for a job locally and they'll match it.

Yes I agree that not all dealers are useless. My local ones are Holden Norwich and Lings Lowestoft. Both have always been very good.

I've just had a bill for £105 from him for changing engine, gearbox and diff oils, then doing the valves. I didn't need the filters changing and I'll be doing the plus myself. Over the winter.
