Default Valentine 1

Since my driving is restricted to familiar roads I am not too concerned with fixed sites, it's the mobile ones that worry me

I am looking for the best non-gps based detector and I am considering the Valentine

Any experience of the Valetine? It seem expensive but.......is it worth it?

Cedric has got one and has been very impressed with it, IIRC. He will doubtless post when he sees this. If not, drop him a PM.

I've owned one for 5 years now and, in my opinion, there is none better......period. I also have a Passport that I purchased prior to the Valentine 1 and it is really pathetic in comparison. The amount of warning it gives you is hopeless as you can see the police car before it goes off. The Valentine is going off up to two miles before I can see him. If we take two cars anywhere, my wife and I make sure the Valentine leads the way as the Passport just isn't reliable or sensitive enough. There have been times when she has had the Valentine and has been behind me flashing her lights to warn me of an officer ahead that I would have never known about. The Passport was silent until about 300 yards before I passed him. Just not good enough as far as I'm concerned. The Valentine was giving indications of his presence 2 miles before passing him.

The Valentine's ability to count the number of radar hits you are encountering (up to 9 at any given time), and best of all point to them, is something that you can't live without once you have it. You really feel naked without it. Do not hesitate for a moment about spending the money on a Valentine. Its worth every penny. I wouldn't waste my money on anything else.

Sorry I've only just seen this. Actually I was pointed to this thread by NFS who's over on the CTR board stirring the sh*t!!

I'd recommend the V1 without hestitation. If you go for it get the remote unit too which is about another

At the first Mids Mini Meet the Valentine let out the most horrendous laser warning (First time I'd heard it ) near the turn off the M6 for Weston Park. No-one else at the meet

How does the valentine compare to the Snooper S5? I'd be interested to know, if anyone is up on the specs, and what is the cost of the V1 incedently?
