Vacuum pump noise?
Noticed recently that when starting the car from cold a loud drone starts for a couple of minutes, a tech I spoke to reckoned it would be the vacuum pump, I was sure I had heard/read that this had been deleted from drive by wire engines or was I dreaming this, sure the noise has always been there IIRC but seems to getting louder, normal or do I need to contact the dealer(extended warranty) earlier than May when it's due a service and warranty check( my mate at the dealer gives it a once over just in case there is something that could be replaced before it breaks completely ie rear discs/calipers)
Ta in advance peeps.

Could be the airpump, if its knackered you can either buy a very expensive new one or find a 2nd one or replace it with a resistor to make the ecu think its still there..

The air pump makes a humming noise for a few minutes when the car starts anyway. It's to pre-heat the cat for emissions reasons. Unless you can hear bearings grinding then don't worry about it. All 3 of mine have made that noise.
