Default Vacuum Cleaner

Hi,

The other night I was checking my oil and noticed that a small vacuum pipe was diconnected. It was the middle one of three small diameter ones connected by a clip at the front of the engine. I reconnected it and thought nothing of it.

The next morning I started the S and noticed a loud vacuum cleaner noise coming from the air box. This noise will then cut off after about 30sec to a minute after starting and then it reverts back to the normal quieter induction vacuum noise.

I took the lid off the air box to confirm it was coming from the induction which it was, then an electrical solenoid click later and it was off, is this normal Remember it never did this with the middle vacuum pipe disconnected, any ideas.

Thanks

S

Not sure from memory which pipe you mean, but the change in noise on start up is usually due to the air pump being on from start for about a minute as you say.

Is the air pump for extra air when the engine is cold?
