V288GFX / S200OCS - History - Urgent
Could any of the past owners of this silver (ex) S2000 please contact me as I'm trying to trace the history of the car
The engine + gearbox were sold to me from a Cat B write off - chassis number JHMAP1130YT000399 - I had the car HPI'd and it showed 3 previous owners, and the above reg. numbers.
I would like to know if the car was in any heavy accidents before the one which wrote it off.
Thanks
Steve

That's quite an early chassis. Probably of the first batch. Which you knew anyway so no great help to you. Except to say the handling characteristics and sensitivity of the car were less widely appreciated in the early days than now and so the likelihood of off-road excursions (and meeting immovable objects) is higher. Not statistically proved but just gut feel. Engine and gearbox might survive ok depending on the smash. Hence your query!

Well as my car is also a V GFX, then the car is probably car from Horizon Parkstone or Bournemouth.
I remember one of the guys there telling me about a customer who wrote off his S2000 so you could try them and see if they would write to the owner on your behalf..........
