Default Used prices in the summer

Hi all,

I was on here about a year ago thinking of an S2k and thinking that towards the end of summer I will be ready again.

Just wondering what sort of impact the 2 weeks of UK summer will do for the prices? Clearly convertables are more sought after in summer, but not sure just how much more an S2k will command.

Guess if I look towards mid-end August a few people will start to think about selling up?

Looking at

Should be able to get a decent 'S' for 15K when you decide to buy!

Test drove an STi when i was buying an 'S' but felt it was like playing on a PS2. Went where you pointed it, no real feedback!!! The 'S' is a driver car and you will enjoy it, 240BHP through the rear wheels on a wet cold road, Yeeehaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!
Even better with the hood down

I think it is more about supply and demand. Whether Summer/Winter has an effect on the demand, i am unconcluded

DBM I remember you from Scoobynet about 2 years ago

It's not so much that prices drop over winter, just that people can't sell them and get desperate so take whatever they can get.

S2k isn't that much more confortable than an ITR IMO

Thanks all.

Agreed on the ITR, ive driven a couple of S's now and they are class inside. The seats in both I find very comfy. What I more meant was the quality and soundproofing inside. The ITR drove me mad quite quickly as it was so raw.

What STi did you try Lloyd? The newer ones do have less feel. The one I have is the classic shape, and as you say, to some extent its point and click. When your near 350 bhp it commands respect though, but the speed it will go round bends is mind blowing and VERY reassuring in winter. It doesn't seem to care much about wetness, and slides nicely on demand Its my 5th one so slightly hooked!

The image is starting to bother me too, although generally the car always turns heads for the right reasons

I would miss the power but the S2k is obviously fun in other ways. I actually struggled to pass one in a straight line in a 270 bhp UK99 Scoob

It's ages since I've been on there Mark and I was always more of a SIDC forum man myself. Recognised your name though. I had a MY00 for a year, nice car.

I think I'm going to get a Forester for our sensible car soon, my dad's got one and it's so much fun, just like an enormous Impreza
