so from what i have read the two cars have the same setup other than the engine. so my question is; which would be faster around a track? [not day to day driving]

Different gear ratios too.

It would depend which track but there would be virtually nothing in it. In general the 2.2 would be faster because it's making more power more of the time.

left N/A a 2.2 would be quicker as more torque out of corners and overal hp is similar,

i would really like the oppertunity to get to drive one and see how it feels, not sure i could handle driving a LHD car though, is there any USA AP2's in England at all?

Yes but the engine is attached to a gearbox so it's a moot point.

Set of F20C cams and a remap would net you a nice advantage over the 2litre though

I've driven both plenty. the 2.2 has the leading edge. especially when tuned.
