Default US Spec rear bumper

Hi all,

I just took delivery of a US spec rear bumper (I hate the plinth on UK cars)

problem is when it arrived I found out it was pre facelift (AP1), no ones fault really just a mix up,

so what do I do,

1. It can be returned and a Facelift (AP2) US bumper replace it (supplier says no probs), but will be a while coming.

2. Fit it regardless

I actually like the pre facelift (JDM/US) bumper, but I believe it will need some fabricating ie, Lower fixing brackets for the 2 bottom clips are longer on facelift so will need to adjust (cut and weld)

and not sure about the crash bar clearance

what do you all think? any experience in 'adjusting' the brackets, can someone (the north west crew) Help me do this?
do I need to change the bumper beam (on a JDM the beam is smaller, I believe, but is the US the same)?

or...........give it up as a bad idea and swap out for the facelift one.

Purely personal choice mate but I'd send it back and ask for the facelift version.

What he said, fitting an early bumper to a facelift car just looks like a bad crash repair to me

There's no fog tail light provision on the North American bumper. Don't you guys need one? Just curious as I've only seen this light on UK cars.
