I did think about it, but once I soundproofed the doors and put the x-over in I thought if ive gone to all this trouble, i might as well do it all properly

Mikey, check out my pics and you'll see the x-over (its a aqua colour) stuck on the door panel, i cut out a small piece of the clear plastic and then using extra strong velcro tape (do not drill and screw as the window motor is behind there) i fixed them to the panels. They sit very nicley there and they will keep dry...
