The thing is when you through the gears and are on it, I think it will go up mate.

A one or two gear run will be low temps from x to x mph, but when you go for it through the gears uit will raise alot in this scenario.

You are right. Same with turbo. This is the advantage of using FMIC. But water cooler is a different story. Air has different heat dissipation than liquid and it takes less time to get cold.

Apparently IAT at around 50c isn't something to be worried about, most factory turbo cars run above this after a hard work out.
I was told that 40c is the optimum temp, something to do with fuel vaporisation.
I reckon a pwr chargecooler would be perfect,I even trial fitted my old one before I sold it,and it fitted perfect just above the anti-roll bar.

Sorry to hijack AJ , Steve, Fernando was just finishing packing your turbo yesterday, so you should get the tracking number anytime soon.
Thanks glen, hopefully it won't take to long to arrive.

David at avt is pretty clued up on chargecooler setups,I've dealt with him in the past,it could be worth adding a larger expansion tank to the system,I used a r5 gt turbo baileys header for my old setup, much better than those little filler knecks that come with most kits,I also kept the pipe routing as long as possible without it looking untidy, think the key is to have as much water in the system as possible

Sure I agree Steve.

I think ATEOD the core inside the aftercooler is too small and thus a bigger core would be better, there are some charge cooler which are water to air on ebay not sure how good they are.

This would be the least painful to fit but i think would require some piping and may not fit or reduce boost.

Can't be arsed messing about with the radiator etc again.

Could always try aquamist/meth+water - has anyone has much success with this in theory is seems good reducing IAT's.

Aquamist are well proven on other marques.

I'm surprised nobody on here has looked into it.

Yeah seems pretty straight forward, just corrosion could be an issue?

My dad runs an aquamist kit with an mf2 controller on his r5 turbo 2,it has a jet mounted on each inlet runner,it was setup like this to cool the cylinders down,
Apparently you mount a single jet just after the turbo/supercharger(pre intercooler I think) to cool the charge temps down.
Nice bit of kit,but not cheap

Oh yeah he uses just water
