Default Unsettled ride

I probably know the answer to this one...good coilovers but....

On certain uneven roads i feel the back end of the S jumps around a bit, and loses a grip this isnt hossing it either. Will any struts or braces reduce this?

I guess blistien coliovers, my shocks must be a bit tired too due to the age of the car.

How is your alignment? Mine was unsettled on bumpy B-road corners until I let CG loose on it. A lot more benign on the limit now, plus more confidence inspiring and progressive.

I agree. Tyre pressures then alignment. Have your dampers ever been changed? IIRC you're running over 100k so that could well be the issue?

Feel free to come and compare to mine some time (dampers changed 30k ago)

Tyre pressures it is!

Drove up from Hampshire to the Cotswolds a couple of weeks ago, all on smally roads and had the same thing. Dropped the pressures back to 32Psi on my tried and trusted pressure gauge and bingo - perfect composure.

If it's a very bumpy corner and it's all OEM, the car will do it a lot in hot weather.

It's a bit scary at first and it seems as if the dampers fade on hot drives.

Rear braces help a bit, but the only thing to do is lose the heavy OEM wheels for something lighter as well.

Or fit Nitrons.

The OEM shocks were annoying me yesterday (and mine have done less than 25K miles AND I have front and rear braces AND lighter wheels).

I've really not noticed it recently.

Either my mods are so superbly engineered they've fixed the car's deficiency, or the knuty knutcils have gradually patched up the most irritating bends over the last seven years.

More likely the latter, I suspect!
