It 100% definitely said HB053 on it. As I checked and double checked it.

Glad to see you're taking it in your stride Mark, there will be plenty more of that to come once you start racing

It was quite sobering to see the collection of broken Caterhams, it's not nice to think that it will be my turn at some time, but it will happen.

Luckily my off on Sunday was almost at walking pace and the thing I hit was very soft and very light (although I didn't know that when I was heading towards it ), so there wasn't a mark on the car but it won't always be like that.

One way of looking at it is that your battery packing up when it did may have saved you a lot of money and grief.

It sounds a strange thing to say but this is when you really get good value for money out of a BatCat. Not only do you know the absolute maximum you have to pay out, you also get to walk away from it with no more hassle or inconvenience and that can count for a lot.

Now why did I buy my own again?

Honda quoted 160 and couldn't get it. I had to go to Halfords as I needed the battery as I'm not at home currently so couldn't wait.

Least it wasn't yours. When I finally get around to taking mine on the track I'll be safe in the knowledge that someone else has already written it off before me, so it'll be used to it

Chin up and enjoy the next day out !
